I own it!

One of many?

What I mean by that is there are millions of John Lujans out there in the world, yet I got the URL! It was really just luck. I'm not sure who owned it before - I think some politician in Texas - but it came up for availability in April so I snagged it.

The way I got it was that I'm trying this Microsoft product Office Live. What's cool about this Live thing is that it is free. Free URL, free web page editor, and free hosting. It is an amazing deal! So far I found two bummers: the Office Live image at the bottom of the screen and it doesn't allow you to create pages in a real HTML editor like Dreamweaver.

Microsoft is now giving 5 GB. I'm not sure if that is in the mail and / or the documents.

With documents, you'll need official Office applications - I don't think OpenOffice will work. It might, but I haven't tried it.

But if you are a small business just starting out, this is the way to go.

Upgrade Package

Microsoft offers three packages for this Office Live. This site used to be free, but Microsoft is now charging $14.95/year - still a good deal; but the next level cost ... drum roll ... $20 a month! That is one of the most expensive offers out there. With that package, you can use your real HTML editor. The package that cost the most has something to do with a store front.

Images

I'm not overly enthused about the way they let you use graphics with this package. It seems like they are pushing their famous clip art. I know you can also use the photos that are available from the main site, but so far I'm not impressed.
